EPUB v2 — Build and Editorial Notes
Edition and scope
Astrology Arith(m)etic — The Building Blocks of Astrology, by Mikah Smith / Mikah David Tanner Smith · Schizo Studios. Second Edition — Completed Codex, prepared 2026-11-06 (America/Los_Angeles, PST).
Base vault commit: 1ccc186. Source provenance: MERGE_NOTES and VAULT_COMPLETION. This is a local author-review edition. No GitHub push, retailer submission, patron delivery or external publication occurred.
Source and artifact
Book Text.md is the full editable publication manuscript: standard Markdown, explicit fragment anchors, and a relative image link. The manuscript has 32 chapter/front-matter/appendix sections and 276 entry instances from 275 distinct source notes. It includes all aspect families, all signs and houses, all bodies/points in the core Building Blocks folders, 24 complete curated star entries, the 109-row star catalog, all eight new pattern notes, method/analysis highlights, tables, glossary and sources. The vault retains the unselected star prose, archival variants and software. No client material is included.
- Approximately 96,810 rendered reading words. Markdown token estimate: 100,155 (includes markup/paths).
- Artifact:
the vault EPUB package— 1,227,951 bytes. A byte-identical copy is at[local path omitted]. - Reflowable EPUB3; typographic title page; one supplied bindrune; semantic headings/tables; hierarchical navigation; no forced audio, scripts or third-party embedded fonts.
Editorial rules applied
Author interpretation comes first; additions are visibly labeled Reference expansion. Machine comments, tags and generated navigation are removed from the book, not from source notes. Repeated bibliographies are consolidated into 32 distinct source entries. The Source Manifest records original note paths and SHA-256 checksums, including excerpted/adapted overview sources.
Author-review locks (2026-11-06): Quindecile 24° (H15) and Tyl Quindecile 165° are separate named aspects; Vadecile = 18° (vigintile/semidecile); Dheneb = ζ Aquilae; Gienah uses epoch-computed γ Crv longitude; dwarf planets use Unicode Eris/Haumea/Makemake glyphs; Novile glyph N₉; coined terms locked. Duplicate Decile/Quindecile and Chiron/Ceres paths retained, cross-linked, and synced to identical content. Patron/licensing acknowledgment language left as-is.
A completion-layer rational/irrational slip is corrected: 360/7 is rational with a repeating decimal. The conjunction table clarifies zero separation vs. full-turn phase. Directed septile pseudocode, Sun year/day, MC/zenith and house limits, UTC/DST conversion and nonuniform Ascendant motion are explicitly explained without silently replacing the author’s source prose. The publication appendix lists review items and source limits.
The original Amp acknowledgment uses that project name; the preserved v1 page retains its full original wording. Grok Bot is credited only for production assistance. The patron note preserves the no-extra-payment promise without claiming fulfillment has occurred. The supplied bindrune is reused unaltered; the blank activation image is omitted and audio stays in the vault. No new cover art was invented.

Utilities are outside the vault, under [local path omitted]; environment: [local path omitted].
- Optional reassembly from original vault notes:
epub-env/bin/python epub/assemble.pyfrom[local path omitted]. This overwrites Book Text.md; preserve manual manuscript edits first. It is not necessary for packaging publication edits. - Package the current Book Text.md:
epub-env/bin/python epub/package.py. - Check the output:
epub-env/bin/python epub/validate.py. - Refresh the matching artifact, build records, index and progression:
epub-env/bin/python epub/records.py(the statistics and fixed summary in these records may need updating if scope changes).
Document tools: Python-Markdown 3.11.3, EbookLib 0.21, lxml 6.1.3. No changes were made to engine/analyzer code.
Author review before release
Confirm working coined terms (Celestial Choreography, Occult Symmetry), star-name and degree ambiguities, glyphs, duplicated treatments, cultural/historical attributions, source epochs, copyright/license presentation and patron fulfillment language. Not every historical or interpretive assertion was independently fact-checked. “Completed” describes the expanded manuscript, not scientific validation or a final end to the living codex.
See Validation report. Structural checks passed; EPUBCheck was unavailable because the configured Debian repositories returned HTTP 500. Run formal EPUBCheck and visual checks in intended readers before retailer submission.
Author-review application (2026-11-06)
Vault sources and Book Text.md updated for the eight locked decision groups (including identical duplicate paths). EPUB repackaged locally; no GitHub push.
Dwarf-planet filename migration — 2026-11-06 (PST)
Renamed active Eris / Haumea / Makemake notes using Unicode ERIS FORM ONE (U+2BF0), HAUMEA (U+1F77B), MAKEMAKE (U+1F77C). Updated active links, indexes, derived data and source manifests; source archives and first-edition snapshots untouched. Published fragment IDs retained for link stability. Corrected a pre-existing misplaced Quindecile anchor discovered during navigation validation. Duplicate note pairs remain byte-identical. Patron/license wording and license terms unchanged; proposed copy is chat-only pending approval. Repackaged with existing package.py; formal EPUBCheck was not run.
Approved editorial notices — 2026-11-06 (PST)
Applied the author-approved licensing notice, production acknowledgment and patron notice verbatim to Book Text.md. Replaced the superseded patron paraphrase; retained unrelated descriptive text. Underlying LICENSE documents, original patron letter, archives and first edition unchanged. Rebuilt the EPUB and verified all three exact notices in the generated XHTML.
