Technical Approach to Transits
Technical Approach to Transits
Use precise aspect orbs and ephemeris data to time events. Combine transits with progressions for a layered forecasting approach.

🧭 Technical / Comprehensive Focus — Transits
What to look at, in order:
1. Orbs: 1°–2° for outer planets, 1° for stations; inner-planet transits only as triggers
2. Slow planets often make three passes (direct–retrograde–direct): date all three
3. Prioritise transits that repeat a natal promise (a natal aspect being re-activated)
4. Use an ephemeris or software; check exact dates in UT
Transits compare the current sky (positions for the moment in question) with the natal chart. The arithmetic is the aspect test applied to transiting longitude vs. natal longitude. Key cycle lengths (sidereal periods): Jupiter 11.86 y, Saturn 29.46 y, Uranus 84.02 y, Neptune 164.8 y, Pluto 247.9 y; lunar nodes 18.6 y; Chiron ≈ 50.6 y. Typical life milestones follow from these: first Saturn return ≈ age 29–30, Uranus opposition ≈ 40–42, Chiron return ≈ 50, second Saturn return ≈ 58–59.
