Moon Nodes and Vertices
Moon Nodes and Vertices
The North Node and South Node of the Moon mark points where the Moon’s orbit intersects the ecliptic. They represent karmic themes:
- North Node – Lessons to embrace; future growth.
- South Node – Past tendencies; comfort zone to balance with new experiences.
The Vertex is another calculated point often linked with fated encounters or significant relationships when activated by transits or synastry.

🧮 The Numbers
| Point | Motion | Cycle |
|---|---|---|
| Mean North Node ☊ | retrograde ≈ 3′11″/day | 18.6 years (≈ 18.6 months per sign) |
| South Node ☋ | always ☊ + 180° | same |
| Vertex | moves with the daily rotation (like the angles) | 1 sidereal day |
| Black Moon Lilith (mean apogee) | direct ≈ 6′41″/day | 8.85 years |
The nodes are the eclipse points: solar and lunar eclipses happen only near them. Vault entries: North Node, South Node, Vertex, Anti-Vertex, Black Moon Lilith
